This is regards to an opening with Goldstone Technologies Ltd with one of our client Cisco Systems for Linux System Admin-L3 role for Bangalore Location. Please find the below Job description for this position.
Job Description for the Linux Sys Admin. (This position is for Linux Admin with good working exposure in LVM nothing else) kindly donot concentrate on JD.
1) linux (networking, kernel param & tuning, trouble shooting system & perf issues, pkg mgmt, patch mgmt)
2) SAN storage technologies (like rdf, snaps, etc) preferably with EMC will be plus
3) sound volume management skills preferably hp lvm will be plus
4) clustering experience: HP MC/SG, GFS, Veritas Clustering and Oracle RAC on Linux
5) Basic level scripting (either shell or perl should be fine) but should be capable of understanding other shell scripts
o Strong technically in Linux and HPUX (90% Linux /10% HPUX)
o Good trouble shooting knowledge - OS and Hardware.
o Knowledge of EMC & NetApp storage products/tools
o Knowledge in LVM, VxVM, DNS, DHCP, NFS, HP Service guard & VMware
o Ability to work with users to detail service delivery requirements and system functionality.
o Tasks include large system configuration, systems troubleshooting and design, high level problem analysis and tool design.
o Ability to order, configure and install equipment.
o Ability to repair, reconfigure and install servers/clusters
o Ability to work closely with DBAs, client teams and management ensuring that systems are managed per established service level agreements.
o Ability to manage cases to resolution, refresh/copy databases using Unix commands & scripts
o Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects, large and small with varying degree of complexity
o Ability to work under tight timelines and pressure
o Ability to work cross-functionally in a global team environment
o Be flexible in work hours to accomodate global teams and business needs
