Skills: Candidates must be familiar with:
1. Network installation method of various versions of Linux/ Solaris OS.
(a) Understanding of industry standard kickstart installation method.
(b) Hands-on on managing and installing 3rd party software’s
(c) Troubleshooting experience on the various Installation methods.
2. System provisioning process and technologies
(a) Configuration of hardware with the Linux systems.
(b) System security process and technologies
(c) Operating system access and file system security change and modification
3. User management and Directory services (RHDS)
(a) System change management process and technologies.
4. Patch management with Linux technologies.
5. System monitoring/escalation/troubleshooting
6. Experience with problem management process and technologies
7. Backup and recovery on Linux operating Systems.
8. Build deployment and management process

MandatoryOperating System:
1. RedHat LINUX RHEL 3, 4 and 5.
2. Solaris 8 – 10 operating system.
3. Any third party tools installation and troubleshooting skills on UNIX/LINUX/SOLARIS (nsm, tsm).

Hardware:
1. HP (Compaq) x86 based hardware.
2. IBM x86 based hardware, any Blade servers.
3. Server internal RAID configuration from HP and IBM.
4. Sun Microsystems SPARK based hardware.

Other qualifications:
1. Remote servers handling skills.
2. Leadership skills (staff).
3. Task coordination skills.
4. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
5. Scripting/programming knowledge would be preferred.
6. Any backup tool knowledge.
7. Customer Service experience.

Position: Unix Administrator (UNIX Sun/Solaris installation ,administration,configuration + Cabling knowledge)

Location:Bangalore

Job Status : On Contract Outsourced for an initial period of 12 Mts renewable thereafter .

Resume Summary: Sun Solaris installations and Windows Server Server installations and cabling as well as focusing on vendor and customer interface.

Experience: 3-6 Yrs experience

Qualification: B.E.in Electrical engineering/Computer Science/ Electronics & communications Or graduate with Cisco certifications

Salary: 4 to 6 Lacks pa negotiable

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Responsibilites:
•Installations of PC and Unix Hardware and related equipment.
•Windows Server and Sun Solaris installations based on reference systems supplied by the systems development group.
•Review supporting documentation for the operation and installation of hardware related equipment.
•Respond to calls from GCSC’s for hardware or software assistance and problem resolution.
•Maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of client problems in addition to repairing servers and peripheral equipment, I.E., web systems and DNS, Mail, and news servers.
•Implement systems and software upgrades and OS, configuration changes for users.
•Install all cables, connections and cross connects to data center and customer equipment.
•Maintain a knowledge of building infrastructure (UPS, Generators, HVAC, Electrical components, Security and Surveillance systems, and other facilities maintenance), Front/Backend connectivity, and ASPRE
•Ensure that DMOQ’s are met relative to SLA’s.
•Be able to troubleshoot and repair any backend connectivity issues, such as DSO, DS1, DS3 and OC.
•Be familiar with all AT&T practices, standards in connection with low voltage wiring
•Be able to run cable thru inner duct flooring in the appropriate approved manner.
•Be able to read specs and schematics.
•Be able to understand and assist in the engineering of the floor and customer layouts.

•Review and approve Basic TOFs to ensure that they are complete and correct before acceptance by the engineering review team.

Supplier's principal responsibilities/deliverables and time frames:
Technical Skills Requirement:
•Strong Knowledge of network cabling infrastructure including MDF, IDF, DMARC.
•Thorough understanding of how to organize and dress cables/wires.
•Some C, PERL, Linux, HP/UX and RAID experience
•Familiarity with IDF & multi-max panels, Cat 5/7 and fiber-optic cabling uses and implementation. Cross-connects and punch downs
•Knowledge of Hardware, including PC, Windows OSs, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, Modems, Disc Packs, Tape drives and Windows Sun/Solaris, their software installation and configuration process
