Understanding of configuration management tools As part of the Ops team, DevOps Engineers work with the Dev Team to provide high availability services to our clients. Responsibility includes on-call duties as well as off-time upgrades and maintenance. Ops Engineers provide input on and execute security and deployment practices, scaling and metrics, as well as running general day-to-day server management. You must have the ability to think quickly on your feet and respond diligently to on and off-duty alerts. Requirements: • Familiarity with linux systems on internal hosted and AWS environment • 2+ years experience in systems engineering / administration • Experience running production IT / web operations • Knowledge of installing and configuring Apache, Tomcat/Jboss • Understanding of configuration management tools and principles • Experience with any of Bash, Perl, Python • Experience with any of Postgres, MySQL or Oracle • Experience in dynamic / interpreted programming languages (such as shell and/or ruby) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Additional Desired Experience: • Familiarity with common open source web service infrastructure: Ubuntu, HAProxy, Syslog, Postfix • Familiarity with deployment patterns of the following technologies: Chef, Ruby, Rails, Git, MySQL, Memcached, Redis, Cassandra Responsibilities: Provision and monitor staging/production applications/services Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot dev/qa/production systems/services Work closely with Development and Quality Assurance on environment set-up and support Apply application server updates/patches Help define/build monitoring enhancements/plugins/modules Regards Vaishali Sridhar Mahindra Satyam <info@monsterindia.com> |
