Job Title: Unix Security Admin
Roles & Responsibilities:
To plan and execute a series of operational improvement initiatives in the UNIX Security space, including end-to-end delivery of some or all of the following tasks: deployment of new infrastructure, virtualisation of existing infrastructure, operating system and application software upgrades, client software upgrades, configuration updates, client migrations, deployment of new functionality/applications/software/tools and automation of common procedures.
Prior experience and a working knowledge of LDAP, BoKS/Keon and eTrust Access Control is a requirement, along with SA-level experience on Solaris and/or Linux.
There will be significant out-of-hours weekday and weekend support assistance required. As well as the project-related work, the candidate may also be asked to participate on a shift rota to provide 24x7 coverage, which may include BAU support tasks such as:
- Break-fix support of the existing global security infrastructure (Masters, Replicas and Clients).
Consultation relating to operational security and the on-boarding of servers into the UNIX Security environment, including identification and escalation of technology risks as appropriate.
Development of scripted solutions to improve the functionality supplied to, or the efficiency of the UNIX Security team.
Key Deliverables
• Planning, design, organisation, communication, scheduling, implementation (inc. support of technical implementation carried out by third parties), tracking/scorecarding, documentation and management reporting for assigned projects.
• Ensure that all worked carried out follows JPMC processes and procedures and is in accordance to the JPMC Plan, Build and Operate model. All work should be authorised. Any requests to make changes to the firms technology must be carried out in accordance with the Change Management guidelines and adhere to Controls & Compliance working practices.
• Perform security and change control related tasks in compliance with the Information Technology Control Policies, baseline documentation (as available), departmental process and reference documentation.
• Administration of system and, where applicable, application level security through operating system features, security interfaces and administration tools, in particular FoxT BoKS and CA eTrust Access Control.
• Assist with BAU break-fix and customer service request fulfilment if required.
• Provide support for Disaster Recovery and participate in disaster recovery tests when necessary.
• Provide on-call support if required.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with our customers, project managers and colleagues. Ensure communication is customer-focussed and professional.
• Maintain departmental electronic records of completed security and change control requests.
• Provide support to the Security Administration teams, regarding both technical and procedural issues. Deal with exception requests.
• Maintain knowledge and understanding of internal processes, procedures, IT Control Policies and the Quality Management System and ensure strict adherence to policies at all times
• Manage the maintenance of process and reference documentation to a good professional standard and in accordance with ISO9001 standards.
Required Skills:
- In-depth experience of administering and configuring at least one of: TFS BoKS, RSA Keon Unix Platform Security, CA eTrust Access Control, Memco SeOS
- Experience of UNIX Administration. (Solaris and/or AIX)
- Unix Shell Scripting
- Experience of Security Management or Administration or an interest and desire to work in such an environment
- Technical Support background
