Net Backup Professionals (on contract for 6 month – extendable)

Job Description

• Day to day management and support of servers
• Monitoring of servers, addressing any issues raised and ensuring contracted services are met
• Pro-active maintenance of the server estate
• Resolution of problem tickets and change requests within contracted SLA targets and working with Help Desk Analysts to ensure users are regularly updated
• Developing and implementing service improvements

Experience/skills – Essential
• Microsoft Certified
• Knowledge/experience of Windows NT, 2000 & 2003 Server
• Veritas Net Backup, 
• Knowledge/experience of Active Directory
• Tivoli Storage Manager
• Backup Exec
• Anitvirus (McAfee, Bit defender, GFI, Norman)
• Knowledge/experience of Server patching and Anti-Virus technologies
• Good TCP/IP skills and understanding
• Good knowledge of Windows 2000 Clustering
• Experience of working in a 2nd/3rd level technical support environment (at least 3 years experience)

Experience/skills – Desirable
• Knowledge of SMS/SCCM/SCOM
• Experience of supporting Retail Customers
• Knowledge of ESX VMware
• Knowledge of Dell and HP hardware
• An understanding of Remedy/EARS

Personal Qualities
• Effective communication skills in both verbal and written English
• Very Client focused with regards to service delivery
• Self-driven and able to work by yourself or within a team
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills (the ability to think logically through a problem)
• Must have the initiative, tenacity and commitment to see problems through to resolution
