Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
6 years of experience administering, monitoring and managing Solaris (8/9/10), and Red-HAT environments.
Atleast 5 (five) years of experience troubleshooting and tuning Solaris/Linux systems down to the kernel level.
At least 3 (three) years of experience with performance management, OS builds, and OS upgrades.
Atleast 3 (three) years of experience with high-availability and Disaster-Recovery using one of: Oracle RAC, Veritas Cluster Server (VCS), Veritas VVR
Perl/Python and Shell scripting are a plus not a must have
Demonstrable skills writing best-practice documentation and solution documents are a necessity.
Ability to multi-task and take ownership of issues in a fast-moving environment is a must.
Willingness to work in a 24*7*365 environment in shifts and support after-hours on-call activities is a must.
Preferred Skills:
• Excellent written, spoken communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Experience working with in an on-shore/off-shore development model
• Troubleshoot production applications and coordinate with other technical team members or liaisons as per Service Level Agreement (SLA).
